Kurt Cobain, Nirvana frontman, died 17 years ago yesterday, prompting the mandatory wave of Twitter tributes.

Meanwhile, other people maintained candlelight vigils in Cobain's Washington hometown of Aberdeen and at Seattle's Viretta Park, where some of the singer's ashes are scattered.
