Ukraine launches major drone attack on Moscow, oil refinery hit again

Scores of Ukrainian drones bore down on Moscow on Thursday, hitting the Russian capital's oil refinery for the second time this week. Russia, for its part, fired missiles into Kyiv, also for the second time this week, following an attack that damaged Kyiv's landmark 1000-year-old monastery.

Russia's defence ministry said 555 drones were shot down across the country - 180 around Moscow alone. State news agency TASS said the attack on Moscow was one of the biggest this year.

Russia and Ukraine carried out another exchange of war dead on Thursday, with Moscow receiving 33 bodies, and Ukraine 522 bodies. Russia also announced the takeover of Rai-Oleksandrivka village in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.
