Ukrainian drones struck 20 Russian vessels in the Black Sea overnight, including 17 oil tankers, the commander of Kyiv's drone forces said on Wednesday. Robert Brovdi said the targets included two gas tankers and a tugboat.

Meanwhile, Russia attacked port infrastructure in Ukraine's southern Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, local officials said on Wednesday. An attack on a residential building in Odesa left three people dead and three others injured, regional Governor Oleh Kiper said.

Russia also said four vessels delivering cargoes for the Ukrainian armed forces were struck in the ports of Chornomorsk and Dnipro-Buh. Russia and Ukraine stepped up their battle over the Black Sea and key trade routes on Wednesday.
