A USD 300 billion private fund designed to trigger investment into Iran is outlined in the US-Iran framework agreement and more than half that sum has already been committed, a source with direct knowledge of the deal told Reuters.

The fund is designed to give both sides an economic incentive to conclude a final deal to end the war. Meanwhile, at least three tankers carrying Iranian oil have sailed through the US naval blockade this week, with a fourth, an empty vessel, heading towards the Gulf of Oman, as per reports.

However, Iran fired multiple drones aimed at commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, undermining peace talks. US President Donald Trump warned that the accord was not final, and that he could resume a bombing campaign.
