Amid rising tensions with Russia, US President Donald Trump has made a stunning announcement: advanced Patriot missiles and possibly long-range offensive weapons are being sent to Ukraine. Trump slammed Putin’s duplicity, saying “he talks nice, then bombs everyone in the evening.” The new plan, first suggested by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the NATO Summit, will be financed by European nations and announced during NATO Chief Mark Rutte’s visit to Washington on July 14–15. Rutte is expected to meet Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.
