Kevin Pietersen, James Anderson and Stuart Broad, who were reported to have urinated on the Oval pitch long after the fifth Test ended, are unlikely to face any action.

As of 10 pm last night, no inquiry has been initiated by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). "We have nothing to say on this matter," Colin Gibson, the ECB's Media and Communications Director said from Lord's.

Interestingly, the Professionals' Cricketers' Association (PCA) representing the England players, does not see it a serious issue. "No, we don't consider it an issue to be discussed. The game has more worrying issues like corruption etc than this," said Angus Porter, the PCA's Chief Executive Officer, from London. Stuart Broad's father Chris, the International Cricket Council's match-referee is the president of the PCA.
