West Indies team manager and former captain Richie Richardson termed Virender Sehwag's innings of 219 as an exceptional knock though calling the track a flat one. Sehwag played exceptionally well.

It was a flat wicket. Even though Sehwag batted so well, I thought if one or two of our batsmen could stick in, we could get to that total. But it wasn't to be," Richardson said.u00a0

"We knew they were going to put on a big total. The outfield was lush green. It was always going to be a high-scoring match. But we were very disappointed as the Indians batted much better. Our captain was very positive," he said.u00a0

Richardson, however, didn't want to compare Sehwag's knock with Vivian Richards' 189 at the Old Trafford in 1984. "I don't want to compare the innings of Sehwag with anyone else. Viv's ton was on a difficult wicket," he said.u00a0
