England fast bowler Chris Tremlett feels India are wrong in opposing the Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS) and cannot understand why the cricketing superpower is so vehemently against it.
India have opposed the system right from its inception in 2009, despite International Cricket Council's (ICC) call for it to be used in all major matches.
UDRS, which allows teams to make two incorrect challenges to an on-field umpire's decision before all their referrals for that innings are used up, has been accepted by most of cricket's leading nations. It was also in use at the recently concluded World Cup in the subcontinent. "I am a fan of the system. If the technology is there, it should be used," Tremlett was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph. "Who knows why they (India) don't want it involved?" The UDRS will not feature in the four-Test series between India and England next month.
