Only a fortnight ago, the retired Tendulkar graced the Lord's turf while leading the Marylebone Cricket Club against Rest of the World in the MCC Bicentenary Celebration match in which he scored 44 off 45 balls.

He was still in London when the second India vs England Test began and was asked by his son Arjun as to what he thought would emerge at the end of the Test.

"I told Arjun that India had the upper hand on Day One (290 for nine) so I think we'll win. I am glad I was proved right," said Tendulkar.

"This win reminded me of India's victories in Durban (vs South Africa in 2010) and Perth (vs Australia in 2008) where everyone chipped in brilliantly.

The Lord's surface reminded me of the Headingley Test in 2002. We batted first then, put up a big total and won by an innings with contributions from everyone."

In a fortune-swinging Test, Tendulkar stressed, "India won all those crunch moments."
