Even as former La Liga Champions Real Madrid prepared to open their campaign away against Mallorca, new manager Jose Mourinho has already made intentions for the title very clear.
The Portuguese admitted that reigning champions Barcelona play well, but he is confident Real Madrid will win the title in their own style.
"Barcelona play very well, but we have no intention to copy them, and at the same time I have no will to finish second," Mourinho told Marca. With Mourinho bringing in a host of new players, expectations are high after big-spending Madrid failed to win any titles last season.
Madrid have a stronger attack with winger Angel Di Maria and forward Sergio Canales while the midfield boasts of names like Mesut Oezil, Sami Khedira and Pedro Leon and Ricardo Carvalho in defence. However, if there's one man Mallorca will be keen to mark, it is Cristiano Ronaldo.
