Opener Brad Haddin hit 110 to help Australia chase 246 in the third one-day international against New Zealand in Hamilton.
Australia scored 248 in 47.2 overs to canter a six-wicket win at a packed Seddon Park.
Haddin shared a 151-run partnership with Ricky Ponting who made 69. He hit five sixes and seven fours in his 110 of 121 balls.
Earlier in the day Ross Taylor (62), Scott Styris (41) and Hopkins (45) fronted NZ up to reach a sub-standard score of 245.
Fine bowling efforts from Aussie pacers Ryan Harris (3-48) Mitchell Johnson (3-41) restricted the Kiwis within 47 overs.
Australia now leads the five-game Chappell-Hadlee series 2-1
