Members of the Indian cricket brigade celebrated National Girl Child Day yesterday with some very touching and thoughtful messages via Twitter. Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar led the way in this noble initiative. "Daughters are special! Appreciate them, admire them and respect them. Let them chase their dreams," wrote Tendulkar whose daughter, Sara is 20.

Suresh Raina posted a cute video of himself playing with his one-year-old daughter, Gracia, and wrote: "She is the exclamation mark in the happiest sentence that I could ever write. Daughters are angels" Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh posted a picture of his wife, Geeta Basra and daughter, Hinaya, with the message: "Don't cut their wings, let them fly. They're more than capable of achieving everything."
