Jailed India fast bowler S Sreesanth confided with two Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) officials that he is innocent, even as a Delhi court yesterday squashed his bail application and extended his judicial custody till June 18

Sreejith Nair, one of the two KCA official who met Sreesanth at Delhi's Tihar jail, said Sreesanth was baffled after his bail application was cancelled.

Sreesanth, who played for Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals, is in jail for his alleged role in spot fixing in the recently concluded sixth edition of the tournament.

"Sreesanth was taken aback to hear that his bail application has been rejected and the Delhi Police have invoked Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against him," Nair, a noted criminal lawyer, told IANS.

"He asked why is it that he is singled out when others have been given bail, when he is innocent," added Nair.
