UB40, Lionel Richie and Abba Revival to add spice to Indian Premier League opening ceremony

In 1985, Lionel Richie collaborated with Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder on the 'We are the World' project which gave rise to the hit track of the same name (released on March 7, 1985). The song was on the lips of every music lover, many of those being Indian fans. Twenty five years later, Richie (60) is all set to get closer to the hearts of Indians when he makes an appearance at the Indian Premier League opening ceremony at the DY Patil Stadium this Friday when defending champions Deccan Chargers clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders. Lalit Modi, the IPL chairman and commissioner wrote on Twitter last night that the great American will be part of the opening ceremony alongwith UB40 and Abba Revival. Deepika Padukone will add to the glamour factor.
