Arsenal manager Arsenel Wenger defended his club's trophyless run soon after the club announced record pre-tax profits of 56 million pounds for the year ending May 31, 2010, up more than 10 million on the previous year.

Wenger said: "It's never easy to move to a new stadium.

The first plan for us was to stay at the top level of competition and we managed that. If you look at the index of Uefa, we are in the top eight seeded clubs."
The Gunners host West Brom tonight and will be keen to win after sharing points with Sunderland last week.
