Hot head: Shahid Afridi

Pakistan's senior all-rounder Shahid Afridi has landed himself in trouble after slapping a fan following a match of the country's premier domestic cricket tournament here yesterday.

According to eyewitnesses, Afridi slapped a fan, who was insisting on a photograph with the cricketer after a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match here at the UBL Stadium.

Eyewitnesses said that Afridi was irritated by the young fan's repeated demands to have himself photographed with the player and decided to vent his anger by slapping him repeatedly.

However, Afridi has rubbished the incident. "I didn't slap anyone. There was this guy who was chasing and pushing me for an autograph. I just pushed him away," Afridi was quoted as saying on Reuters website.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has a strict code of conduct for its players and it is expected that the Board will take note of the incident.
