Yesterday, for the second time in two weeks, members failed to appear before the inquiry committee probing the 405 unsold tickets of the 2011 World Cup final at the Wankhede Stadium.

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) CEO CS Naik, Pradeep Jhaveri and Surendra Shavale were asked to present their case to the three-member probe committee, but none of them turned up.

Apparently, in an urgent managing committee meeting on Thursday, it was tentatively decided to set August 17 as deadline for submission of the probe report. The next meeting is now scheduled on July 15.

Shetty vs MCA
The City Civil Court yesterday fixed the date of the next hearing for Prof Ratnakar Shetty's case against the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for July 24.

Shetty has filed a R50 lakh defemation suit against MCA for banning him for five years. Shetty approached the court for a stay order on his ban that will allow him to contest the MCA elections that are likely to be held in August.
