The MIG Cricket Club (Bandra East) will name its pavilion after Sachin Tendulkar in a befitting tribute to the batting legend, who will be retiring after the second Test against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium.

Tendulkar, who has practised quite a bit at the Bandra ground during his formative years, has given his consent to the club's authorities. "We have decided to name our pavilion as the ‘Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar Pavilion'.

We spoke to Sachin a few months ago and he acknowledged it," said Ashish Patankar, MIG Club's secretary during a media conference yesterday.

Tendulkar is set to inaugurate the pavilion after playing his 200th Test at the Wankhede (Nov 14-18). The club is also planning to install a 24x12 portrait of the Master Blaster on the front wall of the club premises.

"We want to have the inauguration function on a grand scale and make it open to public. We are expecting the painting to be completed by November 10. I will request him to see the painting before the Mumbai Test," said Patankar. u00a0
