IT was a huge relief for former IPL boss Lalit Modi after the Bombay High Court on Saturday stayed the proceedings of the BCCI disciplinary committee probing allegations of financial irregularities against Modi till January 10 2011.

Modi's counsel Ram Jethmalani said that after hearing the civil suit filed by Modi, the vacation judge of the High Court Justice S J Kathawala held that a prima facie case has been made out for staying such proceedings.

The BCCI panel comprising Chirayu Amin, Arun Jaitley and Jyotiraditya Scindia were to hold a meeting on December 27 and 28.
