Michael Clarke, who will be leading Australia at the upcoming World T20 in the West Indies, is hopeful that the Indian Premier League survives the recent suspension of its chairman Lalit Modi. Modi was suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI) following allegations of corruption.
Clarke said the IPL helped young players make it to their national teams.
"The IPL is a wonderful tournament. It has given guys a great opportunity on a major stage to state their case for international cricket. Guys have gone over there and done really well at the IPL level and they've got their chance for their country," said Clarke, who has opted against playing in the first three editions of the lucrative Indian tournament. However he might playu00a0 in it in future. "It's a tournament I'd love to take part in at the right time. I hope I can in the future."
