Former England captain Ronnie Clayton has died at the age of 76, his former club Blackburn said Friday.


Former England captain Ronnie Clayton has died at the age of 76, his former club Blackburn said Friday.

Blackburn said they would be honouring the memory of their former skipper ahead of Saturday's match against Chelsea.

"Everyone at Ewood Park is deeply saddened by the news," Blackburn chairman John Williams said. "Ronnie was not only a wonderful servant and ambassador for the club, he was also one of the most popular men ever to be associated with Rovers.
