Troubled former England star Paul Gascoigne has been arrested on suspicion of drugs possession.
Gascoigne, 43, spent Thursday night in police custody on suspicion of possessing a class A substance at a house in Burradon, North Tyneside.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "At shortly after 5.30pm on Thursday, police attended a property in North Tyneside.
"A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. A second man, aged 43, was later arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. Both men are still in custody and inquiries are ongoing."
Gascoigne's arrest came days after the ex-Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio and Rangers midfielder was warned he faced jail after admitting drink driving at Newcastle Magistrates Court.
