Gavaskar happy to be in Bird's World Test XI

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar is glad to be part of ex-English umpire Dickie Bird's all-time Test XI. Dickie has been one of the most respected and popular umpires in the game, so it's good to know that I am in his team, Gavaskar said.

Bird named his team in an interview with The Telegraph ahead of his 80th birthday yesterday. The cricket fraternity has expressed shock at the omission of legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Don Bradman.

Bird's team does not even feature some great names like Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, West Indian fast bowlers Malcolm Marshall, Andy Roberts, Joel Garner and Michael Holding.
