Scottish and Welsh members of Team GB in both the men's and women's squads failed to sing national anthem 'God Save The Queen.'

Captain Ryan Giggs and fellow Welshman Craig Bellamy, Neil Taylor and Joe Allen stood in conspicuous silence before the Olympics' first British men's football match on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Team GB women footballers Kim Little and Ifeoma Dieke from Scotland refused to sing at the opening match against New Zealand on Wednesday.

The British players' decisions caused great offence to many Team GB fans.u00a0
