IND vs AFG 2nd T20I | 'Every player needs confidence...': Nitish Kumar Reddy on his exceptional performance in New Delhi

In the second T20I match against Afghanistan, Team India secured a victory by seven wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

During the match, Team India's all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy returned with the figures of three wickets for 24 runs in three overs.

Speaking about the performance, he said that every player would need confidence after he comes off an injury. Nitish is also hopeful of continuing to perform with the same confidence in the upcoming matches.

"You just have to be mentally positive and do the good things, and God will give you at the right time. Feels great, you know; every player needs confidence when they are coming from injury, and to be fair, the first game was not that great for me, and in the second game, I felt much happier, because any player would need this confidence, and I hope I continue this confidence forward," he said in a video post by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The all-rounder then stated that he is grateful to Team India's management for providing him with the opportunities and showing trust in him.

"It is always a privilege to be a part of the Indian team, and the management, obviously, they have given me enough opportunities, and they have shown a lot of trust. I think that is what a player would actually need, and that I am getting from the management; I am pretty happy with that," said Nitish.

He was also named the 'Player of the Match' for his stunning performance with the ball.

Following the victory, the "Men in Blue" have sealed the three-match T20I series, with one match yet to be played. The third match is scheduled to be played on September 17 at the same venue.
