IND vs AFG Test: Afghanistan reach 18 runs in second innings at lunch on Day 3 against Team India

In the one-off Test match against Team India, Afghanistan has reached 18 runs without losing any wickets on Day 3 at the Maharaja Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh.

Earlier, the hosts bowled out Afghanistan on 152 runs and have now enforced a follow-on. So far in their second innings, the visitors have played four overs and are trailing by 394 runs.

Afghanistan's opening batsmen, Sediqullah Atal and Abdul Malik, are showcasing an aggressive brand of cricket.

Team India's Manav Suthar and Prasidh Krishna continue to showcase their skills with the ball. Kuldeep Yadav will also look to claim his first wicket in the match.

IND vs AFG Test: Afghanistan's first innings' summary

Team India declared on 564 on Day 2. The hosts lost eight wickets after playing 127 overs.

Opening the innings, Afghanistan's Abdul Malik scored 16 runs in 18 balls, including three boundaries. Sediqullah Atal also departed on 17 runs in 27 balls, with the help of three boundaries.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz managed to score just 12 runs in 40 balls, which included a boundary and a maximum. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi registered 20 runs in 48 balls, including four boundaries. Wicketkeeper-batsman Afsar Zazai was dismissed on three runs in 26 balls.

Facing 135 deliveries, Rahmat Shah smashed 60 runs, laced with nine boundaries and a maximum. Mohammad Saleem's innings ended with a three-ball duck.

Azmatullah Omarzai was dismissed on a 10-ball duck. Sharafuddin Ashraf also managed to register 11 runs in 32 balls, with the help of two boundaries.

Nangeyalia Kharote stayed unbeaten on one run in 10 balls, whereas Ziaur Rahman was dismissed on six runs in three balls, which included a maximum.

Team India's Manav Suthar returned with the figures of six wickets for 33 runs in 22 overs. Prasidh Krishna also bagged three wickets by conceding 37 runs in 11 overs. Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Washington Sundar are yet to claim any wickets.
