Ahead of the third Test match against England at Lord's Cricket Ground, former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly feels that Kuldeep Yadav should be included in the playing XI if the conditions are demanding.
"I want Kuldeep to play. It is very important to play Kuldeep, but we have to see how the conditions are, if there is a green wicket, then perhaps one other seamer will play, Bumrah will too. However, if you have a good wicket, it is crucial to play Kuldeep," said Ganguly.
Shubman Gill, who has been in his exceptional form, will be one of the top players to watch out for from the remaining series. Praising Gill for his batting in the two concluded Test matches, Ganguly was in awe of the 25-year-old.
"He has turned around his batting in away conditions, and so good to see a young captain taking responsibility. But there is still a lot of Cricket left. Three more Test matches are to go...," the former skipper told ANI.
The 53-year-old then hailed the performances of other players in the Birmingham Test, saying it feels good to see youngsters stand up and win.
"Shubman was outstanding, so was Yashasvi. The fast bowlers and Ravindra Jadeja did well. It has been a fantastic team and feels so good to see youngsters stand up and win for their team. India has so much talent, Akash Deep is good, Siraj is good, Yashasvi and Gill are good," said Ganguly.
Ahead of the much-anticipated Test match, India will look to capitalise on their momentum. Additionally, England will likely play Jofra Archer and Gus Atkinson as these two pacers have been added to the squad for the third Test.
One of the top rivalries to watch out for from this Test will be between India's lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah and England stalwart Joe Root. The Englishman is yet to live up to his name in the ongoing series, as he has been struggling to put on a big score.
The third Test match will kick off from July 10 to 14 at the 'Home of Cricket'.
