West Indies scored a mammoth 247 runs for the loss of 3 wickets against India in the fourth T20I between the sides. Captain Shai Hope was the star for the visitors again as he smashed an unbeaten 102 runs off 50 balls. His innings included 4 fours and 9 massive sixes.
Hope was well supported by Shimron Hetmyer, who scored a quickfire 33 off 12 balls and Sherfane Rutherford, who scored 49 runs off 26 balls.
For India, Prince Yadav was the best bowler with figures of 1/36 in his four overs. Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh chipped in with a wicket each in what was a tough outing for the bowlers.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Shreyas Iyer was happy to bowl first. The Indian skipper said that his players are confident going into the game before confirming that the hosts will play with the same team.
"We are going to bowl first. We have a fair idea about how it's playing in the first innings. So based on that, we took this decision. This is going to be a decisive game for us, and we have to be in that frame of mind where we can't get complacent because we know how disruptive the West Indies team are. They've got a power-packed lineup until number nine. So putting these thoughts all in mind and going forward, I feel that we need to be in a strong headspace and see to it that we are winning each session. We're going with the same team." Iyer said.
West Indies captain Shai Hope admitted that he would have bowled first too had he won the toss. Hope further added that his team were looking forward to the challenge to tie the series 2-2 going into the final match.
