IND vs ZIM T20Is: BCCI announces India's squad for three-match series against Zimbabwe

Team India is all set to clash against Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad for the three-match series.

The first match between both teams will be played on July 23 at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The second and third T20I matches have been scheduled to be played on July 25 and 26, respectively, at the same venue.

Shreyas Iyer has been named as the captain for the "Men in Blue", and Tilak Varma has been appointed as his deputy. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named in the squad.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been dropped for the series against Zimbabwe. Currently, he is featuring in the ongoing five-match T20I series against England.

Additionally, Ashok Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh and Yash Thakur have earned their maiden call-up to the Indian team.

The squad also features the likes of Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Shivam Dube, and Mayank Yadav, among others.

In the ongoing five-match T20I series between Team India and England, the hosts are leading 1-0, with the first game abandoned due to rain.

The "Men in Blue" suffered a loss by four wickets at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Greater Manchester. The third match is all set to be played on July 7 at the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in Nottingham.

The hosts will look to secure another win, whereas the Shreyas Iyer-led men will be eager to bounce back and level the series. Ahead of the third T20I, the cricket fans will keep a tab on Sooryavanshi, who made his international debut in the second game. However, the left-handed batsman departed on 14 runs in 10 balls. He also smashed two maximums during his knock.

It will be interesting to see if the 15-year-old cricketer manages to put on a big show with the willow in Nottingham.
