Team India is set to clash against Zimbabwe in a three-match T20I series. The first match is scheduled to be played on Thursday at the Harare Sports Club.
The second and third T20I matches between the teams will be played on July 25 and 26, respectively, at the same venue.
The visitors will enter the series after suffering two consecutive T20 series defeats against Ireland and England. Speaking on the losses, Team India batsman Tilak Varma said that the "Men in Blue" are focused on following their basics and getting the winning momentum back.
"Honestly, it has been a big learning since the last series. And we are just looking forward, and we just want to follow our basics and do well in the coming series. In this series, we will execute well and seal our best cricket. We want to get that momentum back again," stated Varma.
Since Shreyas Iyer's appointment as captain in the shortest format, Team India has suffered two consecutive defeats. It will be interesting to see if Iyer and his men can bounce back against Zimbabwe.
Cricket fans will also keep a tab on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. In the series against England, the left-handed batsman didn't taste much success. Ahead of the series against Zimbabwe, Sooryavanshi will be expected to deliver big knocks.
India has announced their squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been dropped from India's squad.
Earlier, Team India also suffered a 1-2 ODI series loss against the "Three Lions". In the third ODI match, Team India's star batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, delivered big knocks along with skipper Shubman Gill. Rohit smashed a glorious ton, whereas Kohli and Gill registered 74 and 77 runs, respectively. Despite stunning performances by hosts, they suffered a defeat of 27 runs at the Lord's Cricket Ground in the City of Westminster.
