Young Indian spinner Sree Charani has been rewarded for her explosive start to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, climbing to the number one spot in the latest ICC Women's T20I Bowler Rankings.

Charani has moved above England spinner Linsey Smith to take the top position for the first time in her international career. The left-armer is enjoying the T20 Women's World Cup, having picked up 10 wickets across three matches so far.

The 21-year-old, who made her international debut just over a year ago, earned the top rankings after registering her second career four-wicket haul against the Netherlands in Leeds, followed by a three-wicket performance during a defeat against South Africa in Manchester.

Meanwhile, Smith has slipped to third place after a quiet start to her World Cup campaign. Her England teammate and fellow spinner Charlie Dean has climbed to second position after taking five wickets in three fixtures.

Former world number one Sophie Ecclestone is also making upward progress, climbing four places to sit fourth overall. Meanwhile, West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews (up nine positions to 11th), Australian quick Kim Garth (up 25 spots to 20th), Pakistan captain Fatima Sana (up 10 places to 25th), and Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast (up 10 spots to 26th) have all made positive strides.

Shafali Verma climbs to sixth spot in the batting ranking

The T20I batting rankings remain largely unchanged. Australian opening batter Georgia Voll has retained her position at the top, despite managing only 62 runs across three innings at the T20 World Cup.

Her colleague Beth Mooney has moved up one place to second, sitting 47 rating points behind the top spot. Other notable movers include India's Shafali Verma (up one place to sixth), skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (up one spot to 10th), New Zealand's Sophie Devine (up one position to 11th), Prendergast (up four spots to 13th), and Bangladesh's Nigar Sultana Joty (up three places to 20th).

The T20I all-rounder rankings see no movement at the very top, with Hayley Matthews maintaining her lead over New Zealand's Melie Kerr.

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu (third), Prendergast (fifth), and Sana (sixth) have each moved up one position within the top 10.
