The Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs to move into the top 4. SRH scored 195 runs in the first innings and later defended it with considerable ease.

After the loss, Ruturaj Gaikwad admitted that his team's batting performance was not good enough. The visitors started off well in the run chase but faltered in the end.

'Looking at how their powerplay went, I was looking at a score around 220-230. To pull it back by 30 runs, I would have taken it any day under 200. It was just about 80 runs needed in 10 overs (with the bat). From there it was just about building a couple of partnerships. We scored just 4 runs in the next 2 overs after the 10-over mark. Chasing 12-13 at the death is going to be difficult. It's been three successive games that the bowling unit has been doing really well. Even the powerplay today I thought Abhishek played brilliantly. I think everyone did a good job (with the ball). He (Anshul Kamboj) is working really on his bowling, especially the death bowling. Very rarely you get bowlers who have clarity and tell the captain that I know what to do, this is what I am going to do." Gaikwad said.

Ishan Kishan delighted with SRH's performance

SRH captain Ishan Kishan was full of praise for his young bowlers after yet another win. He said that his team is taking one game at a time.

"Lovely when you have a bunch of young bowlers. They are coming up with their own plans and it was lovely to see them do their job. 100%. Abhishek got out pretty early, when we have scored 220-230, we have seen one batter going big. Actually looking at them in practice sessions, giving their best, day by day in practice. Give them the ball and let them do what they want to. (on the pitch) Very good batting surface and we were 30-40 short. We should've batted better. We are not looking at the points table. Taking it one game at a time." Kishan said.
