In the IPL 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious by six wickets at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur.

During the match, RCB's stalwart Virat Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 105 runs off 60 deliveries, laced with 11 boundaries and three maximums.

After the match, a video of KKR's mentor Dwayne Bravo has gone viral in which he is seen hugging Kohli and saying, "Play as long as possible, the sport needs you".

Kohli also became the first Indian batsman to complete 14,0000 runs in T20 cricket. Overall, Kohli is the sixth Indian batsman to achieve the feat.

The other five batsmen are Chris Gayle (14,562), Kieron Pollard (14,482), Alex Hales (14,449), David Warner (14,284), and Jos Buttler (14,200). The right-handed batsman also became the fastest batsman to complete 14,000 runs in T20 cricket. He took 409 innings to accomplish the milestone, surpassing Chris Gayle's previous record of 423 innings.

Following the victory, the Rajat Patidar-led RCB is placed at the top of the points table. Having played 12 matches, Bengaluru's men have secured wins in eight matches and suffered four defeats. They have a net run rate (NRR) of +1.053 and 16 points.

RCB will now take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 17 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.
