In the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Gujarat Titans (GT) have qualified for the playoffs. This is their fourth playoff appearance in their five campaigns.
One of the major reasons for the franchise's success is the development of skipper Shubman Gill. So far in 12 matches in the ongoing edition, the right-handed batsman has garnered 552 runs with an average of 46.00.
He is also the fifth-leading run-scorer in IPL 2026. Along with him, fellow opening batsman Sai Sudharsan is also on the list of leading run-scorers, having registered 554 runs in 13 matches with an average of 46.17.
Under Gill's leadership, the Titans are placed in the second position with eight wins and five losses in 13 games. They have a net run rate (NRR) of +0.400 and 16 points.
Apart from the batters, GT's lead pacer Kagiso Rabada is also enjoying the second spot on the list of bowlers with the most wickets in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league. In 13 matches, the pacer has claimed 21 wickets and has an economy of 9.22.
The Titans will play their last group stage match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
