London: 28 years after Kapil Dev's team defeated the hosts at Lord's, MS Dhoni's men have repeated the feat. But that's not where the similarities between the two teams end.

Kapil Dev was the captain the last time India beat England in a Test at Lord's.

Twenty eight years later, the legendary all-rounder was back at the venue in his capacity as a commentator, and needless to say, he was thrilled after MS Dhoni's side recorded a 95-run win.

"It's a great victory. I want India to win everywhere they play. But, it's surprising that this is only our second Test win at Lord's in 82 years," Kapil told mid-day.

Recalling the game in which he led the side to victory, he said: "Although I have forgotten some things, I do remember that it was a collective effort that took us to that five-wicket win.

I remember Dilip Vengsarkar's excellent century and Mohinder Amarnath's superb 69 in the first innings. I was awarded the man-of-the-match (for the Test haul of five wickets and an unbeaten 23-run in cameo in the second innings).

"Chetan Sharma too got five wickets in the first innings. So it was a complete team effort."

About the celebration that ensued, Kapil said: "We danced a lot in the dressing room and there was a lot of noise. But it was not as big as the celebration we had after the World Cup win in 1983."

Kapil feels Lord's has undergone a lot of changes since then and those times were completely different. "There used to be a rest day in between the Test then. But who has the time these days," he asked.
