Karachi: Out-of-favour spinner Saeed Ajmal has been suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after accusing the International Cricket Council (ICC) of singling him out on the illegal bowling action issue.

Reflecting on the decision, PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said that they had taken the minimum action on the violation of discipline and had suspended his contract, stopped releasing his salary and had asked him to explain his comments, the Dawn reported.

Earlier, Ajmal had accused Indian off-spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh of chucking saying that if tests were conducted on other bowlers then there would be many bowlers whose bowling actions would exceed the 15 degrees extension limit.

The 38-year-old spin maestro was banned by the ICC for an illegal bowling action in August 2014, which led to his ouster from the national squad for the World Cup.

Ajmal, who has claimed 178 Test and 184 ODI wickets, has been struggling with his remodelled bowling action and failed to cement his spot in the team since returning from suspension in February.
