Rohitu00a0Sharma had a mixed day yesterday. The talented Mumbai batsman finally lived up to his potential after scoring 200 not out against Bengal to help the defending champions post a mammoth 621 for eight declared on Day Two of the Ranji Trophy Super league match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata yesterday.
The hosts were 28 for one at stumps. However, later in the day, there was heartbreak for Sharma, who was demoted to Grade C in the BCCI central contracts. Talking about the double ton, he said: "This knock came at a right time. We lost two quick wickets in the morning and I am glad to rescue the team. It was important to build a good partnership," said Sharma.
However, he did not wish to comment on being dropped from Grade B.
