Since December 2009, India have lost only three out of 29 ODIs they have played at home. They have won 24 of them.

Abhimanyu Mithun, Irfan Pathan, Ashok Dinda and Vinay Kumar are the frontrunners to replace injured Praveen Kumar in India's squad for the four-Test series against Australia starting December 26 when the national selectors meet in Ahmedabad today.

It is also learnt that the selectors will name a replacement for Umesh Yadav for the last two ODIs against West Indies as the speedster will leave on December 8 with the first batch of players to Australia.

While Abhimanyu Mithun who has been a steady domestic performer is the likely first choice to replace Kumar, Irfan has forced his way back in the reckoning after a splendid show in the Ranji Trophy grabbing 21 wickets in four matches with a 7-wicket haul against Delhi last week.

The added advantage will be his batting and experience of playing in Australia during India's previous two tours there. It can be recalled that he delivered a man-of-the-match performance in the famous victory in the third Test at Perth.u00a0
