Veteran sports journalist Jaswinder Sidhu no more

The Indian sports journalism fraternity are mourning the death of Jaswinder Sidhu, a Delhi-based sports journalist, who was an occasional contributor to this newspaper. Journalists all over India woke up to the news of Sidhu's demise on Monday morning, after he met with a road accident in the national capital.

Sidhu, 55, was a hardcore news seeker and went about his job cheerfully. He will be missed in cricket press boxes for his sense of humour and his affection for fellow journalists. "His passing marks a profound loss to Indian journalism. His dedication to sports journalism, unwavering professionalism and insightful reporting earned him immense respect across the media fraternity," Press Club of India (Delhi) said.
