Strauss to get mace after the Oval Test

England captain Andrew Strauss will receive the ICC's mace for becoming the World No 1 Test side after the conclusion of the fourth Test against India at The Oval. The mace will be presented to Strauss a day after The Oval Test to avoid a clash between ICC sponsor Reliance and npower, who are sponsoring the Test series. The mace, plated in silver and gold, is valued at around ufffd30,000 and was commissioned from the British jewellers Asprey and Garrard in May 2001.
