Tevez gives City showdown a miss

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez chose to remain in Argentina and not attend a meeting with the club yesterday but discussions have taken place between the two parties.

The 27-year-old had been requested to return to England by City after he skipped training and flew home to visit his family last week, apparently without permission from his employers.

However, The Argentine has remained in South America while City and his advisors hold discussions to find a resolution.
