Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, who is likely to be hit with a 600,000 pound fine for going absent without official leave, could be staying in Argentina indefinitely.

Tevez flew to Buenos Aires last week without the permission of his club.

According to the Sun, the 27-year-old has told friends that his relationship with manager Roberto Mancini has broken down completely.

Mancini wants him to apologize before he can train again with the first team, but Tevez is not prepared to do that.

City had earlier fined Tevez two weeks wages for what they say were five separate breaches of contract in a Champions League game against Bayern Munich in September.

The striker has not played for the club since starting in the 2-0 Carling Cup win over Birmingham in September.
