William Shakespeare said, "What's in a name? that which we call a rose...By any other name would smell as sweet." Well, that's not the case really. Names matter, especially in a world with so many people with attention deficiency.
And former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, who has a huge fan following thanks to his sometimes funny and sometimes sarcastic tweets, got to understand this first-hand.
The 'Nawab of Twitter' left his followers stunned with a tweet on Sunday that was missing an 'a'.

Sehwag tweeted that 'Virat retires tomorrow. He meant INS Viraat, the second aircraft carrier in the Indian naval fleet and the longest serving aircraft carrier in the world that was decommissioned on Monday. Sehwag posted, "Virat retires tomorrow. Old ships never die, their spirits live on. #INSViraat -serving Indian Navy for 30 yrs to be decommissioned tomorrow."
Of course, if one reads his entire tweet then it all makes sense. But that's not how Twitterverse works. People residing in Twitterverse have no time to read even 140 characters and so the first three words were all that was required to create panic among cricket fans.
Virat Kohli is the current captain of the Indian team and though he is going through a bit of a tough phase, not having gone past 20 in any of his four innings vs Australia, he's not anywhere close to retiring.
Now, the 35-year-old Delhiite might have been talking about INS Viraat, but Twitterati went into overdrive thinking it had something to do with Virat Kohli.
