Ajit Agarkar, a former Indian cricketer, was born on December 3, 1977, in Mumbai.

Ajit Agarkar started off as a fast bowler in the Indian cricket team but gradually became a fine all-rounder

Ajit Agarkar made his Test debut on October 7, 1998, against Zimbabwe

Ajit Agarkar played his last Test match on January 13, 2006, against Pakistan

Ajit Agarkar made his debut in ODIs on April 1, 1998, in a match against Australia.

Ajit Agarkar played his last ODI match on August 30, 2007 in a match against England

Ajit Agarkar  played his first T20I on December 1, 2006 in a match against South Africa

Agarkar played his last T20I match less than a year later on September 16, 2007, against New Zealand

Ajit Agarkar has played a total of 26 Test matches with 58 wickets and 571 runs. His best bowling figures are 6/41.

Ajit Agarkar's unbeaten 109 runs at Lord's puts him in an elite list of players who have achieved that feat. Agarkar had batted at no. 8.

Ajit Agarkar has played 191 ODIs and scored 1269 runs and taken 288 wickets. His best bowling is 6/42.

Ajit Agarkar is the third-highest wicket-taker for Team India in the 50-over format with 288 wickets behind Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble

Ajit Agarkar has also been a captain for the Mumbai team at Ranji Trophy and led them to their 40th title in 2013.

Ajit Agarkar had broken Dennis Lillee's record to become the fastest to 50 wickets in ODIs. Ajanta Mendis went on to break Agarkar's record in 2009

Ajit Agarkar holds the record for the fastest fifty scored by an Indian cricketer in ODIs. He achieved his half-ton in 21 balls en route to a blistering 67 off 25 balls against Zimbabwe in 2000.

Ajit Agarkar is also the fastest cricketer to reach 200 wickets and 1000 runs in terms of least number of matches played. Agarkar set the record in 133 matches, breaking Shaun Pollock's previous record.

Agarkar also has a unique record of being dismissed for a duck in seven consecutive innings during the 1999-2000 tour against Australia. He was nicknamed 'Bombay Duck'

Ajit Agarkar got married to Fatema Ghadially on February 9, 2002. The couple have a son together named Raj
