In the one-off Test match against Zimbabwe, England stalwart Joe Root scored 34 runs off 44 deliveries in the first innings of the match. His knock also included three boundaries

With this, he dethroned South Africa's Jacques Kallis to become the fastest batsman to complete 13,000 runs in the longest format of the game. Root took just 153 matches to reach the feat, whereas Kallis achieved the milestone in 159 Test games

The 34-year-old Englishman also became just fifth batsman to score 13,000 runs in Test cricket

Currently, the right-hander is just 2,916 runs shy of surpassing Sachin Tendulkar for the most runs in Test cricket's history. The legendary Team India cricketer has 15,921 Test runs to his name

As of now, Root Test career includes 36 centuries and 65 half-centuries. With his exceptional batting skills, the right-hander has established himself among the 'Fab-Five' of Test cricket
