Having put to bat first, RCB's opening batsman Phil Salt smashed 78 runs in just 36 balls, which also included six boundaries and the same number of maximums. Later, Tim David smashed an unbeaten 34 runs in just 16 balls, with the help of two boundaries and three maximums. Wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma was dismissed for 10 runs in nine balls, including a boundary. Along with David, Romario Shepherd stayed unbeaten on two runs in two balls.
