The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to kick off from March 28

Ahead of the cash-rich league, Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) veteran batsman Virat Kohli is set to achieve a new feat

The right-handed batsman is falling short of nine maximums to complete his tally of 300 sixes in the history of the tournament

So far, having played 267 IPL matches, the 37-year-old cricketer has smashed 291 sixes. If he manages to smash the required maximums, Kohli will then become the third batsman in the tournament's history to complete 300 sixes

Topping the list are Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma. Gayle concluded his IPL career with 142 matches and smashed 357 sixes, whereas Rohit has so far featured in 272 matches and registered 302 maximums
