Pakistan's stalwart Babar Azam has opted out of the National T20 Championship to focus on correcting his batting techniques ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is scheduled to start from March 26
Considering his recent performances in the just-concluded T20 World Cup 2026, the right-handed batsman was dropped from Pakistan's squad for the away ODI series against Bangladesh
He was named in the Lahore Whites squad for the National T20 Championship, but he did not take part in the domestic tournament and will instead work on his batting techniques with some coaches
The 31-year-old cricketer will make his appearance for Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming edition of the PSL
Babar, who was once ranked as the top batsman in all the formats of the ICC's charts, has been struggling to regain his old form since 2024. The Lahore-born cricketer has also not played in any of the domestic competitions since 2020, apart from the PSL
