Chasing a mammoth total of 254 runs for a victory, England lost an early wicket as Phil Salt departed early. Hardik Pandya got the early breakthrough for India.
Coming in at 4, Jacob Bethell played a blinder, scoring xx runs of xx balls. The Englishman set a record for the fastest T20 World Cup fifty by an Englishman (19 balls) before motoring his way to a maiden T20I hundred. He reached his hundred in just 45 balls, smashing Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground.
The dangerous Harry Brook was the next to go as Bumrah struck with the first ball of his spell. The English skipper was caught brilliantly by Axar Patel to give India a big breakthrough.
The in-form Will Jacks played a cameo, scoring 35 runs off 20 balls before losing his wicket to Arshdeep Singh. It took a brilliant catch by the combination of Axar Patel and Shivam Dube to send Jacks packing.
Sam Curran was England's last hope put he too parished looking to take on Hardik Pandya. Curran was caught at deep mid-wicket by Tilak Verma as India edged closer to a thrilling win.
