Having put to bat first, Team India's opening batsman Abhishek Sharma departed on nine runs in seven balls, including two boundaries. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson played a vital knock of 89 runs, which came in 42 balls. His knock also included eight boundaries and seven maximums (Pic: X/@BCCI)

Later, Shivam Dube amassed 43 runs after facing 25 balls. During his knock, he smashed a boundary and four maximums. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav departed after scoring 11 runs in six balls, including a maximum. Tilak Varma was dismissed for 21 runs. His knock ended in seven balls, including three maximums. Hardik Pandya also smashed 27 runs off 13 balls, with the help of three boundaries and two maximums. Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy stayed unbeaten on two and zero runs, respectively. England's Will Jacks returned with the figures of two wickets for 40 runs in four overs. Adil Rashid also claimed two wickets by conceding 41 runs in his spell of four overs. Lead pacer Jofra Archer managed to pick up one wicket.
